Coats for Kids – The program consisted of handing out new winter coats to needy children in the Northshore school district. Families with their children arrive at the distribution center to select coats from the inventory of new quality winter coats. The program has distributed over 150 coats each year in the district. After the initial coat distribution, the remaining coats are taken to area military bases for service member’s families in need. (Note: Brother Leo O’Dore was the original chairman of the council’s first efforts. The council elected to name future council Coats for Kids efforts in his name.)
